I'm Sarah, a registered practitioner and a proud member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association (CSTA) based in Kent.
My journey to becoming a Craniosacral Therapist began when I personally experienced the transformative power of CST.
Dealing with health issues and stress, I tried various therapies without much success until I found Craniosacral Therapy. The profound relief and improvement in my overall well-being encouraged me to delve deeper into this healing practice.
I underwent training with the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CCST) in London, further fuelling my passion for alternative therapies.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on therapy that can treat the entire body by focusing on the cranio sacral system. This system comprises of bones, soft tissues, fascia, and fluid that envelop and support the brain and spinal cord, promoting the elimination of toxins and fostering a healthy metabolic system.
By aiding circulation, vascular functions, and releasing deep-seated tension, Craniosacral Therapy can alleviate pain, improve functionality, and enhance overall well-being. This gentle approach supports the central nervous system and is suitable for individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
People may come for Craniosacral Therapy because they have acute physical problems or long- standing conditions which may include:
Craniosacral therapy offers significant benefits for babies. Restrictions within the body due to the baby's position in the womb or during delivery can be common. Trauma from forceps, ventouse, or caesarean birth can impact the baby's skull bones, leading to issues like colic, constipation, or reflux. Some babies may exhibit signs of irritability, resistance to being put down, or discomfort in their car seat.
A gentle treatment session can release these restrictions, enabling babies to feed and sleep better, feel calmer, and be more relaxed overall.
I have found that addressing the mother's well-being is essential when working with babies. By supporting both mother and baby simultaneously during the session, we can focus on the holistic well-being of both, creating a safe and nurturing environment where your baby can relax and benefit from the treatment.
